Guidelines for Contributions for Workshops, Topical
Forum and Tutorials
Author(s) are requested to submit a PDF-document which describes
her/his/their contribution. In most cases this document essentially
consists of the slides to be presented at the conference.
Please follow these rules:
- Please use the
IEEE PDF eXpress service (using the conference ID: emcz09x)
for conversion to PDF as well as for checking your own PDF.
- Test-print your slides in black-and-white and check that the
colour contrast is ok when printed in black-and-white.
The CDROM will preserve the colour content of the slides.
- Submit a PDF file of 2-up on A4 pages.
- Be aware that fonts are readable when the slides are printed
as 2-up on A4 pages.
- All fonts must be embedded.
- The 2-up PDF must not contain special effects
(eg. page-transitions, animation etc).
Any PDF with special effects will be rejected and you will be
requested to submit a replacement PDF without special effects.
- The maximum number of pages is 18 (corresponding to max. 36
presented slides, 2 per A4-page) for TOPICAL FORUM and WORKSHOPS.
- The maximum number of pages is 25 (corresponding to max. 50
presented slides, 2 per A4-page) for TUTORIALS.
- Submissions must be done through the
submission portal
no later than October 17, 2008.
In case you need to make corrections you
can resubmit your paper through the same portal (using
the "final paper" task). At some date after the
submission deadline (see below) this won't be free of charge.
- All submitted manuscripts must be camera-ready and final.
- Authors must proofread their manuscripts before submission
and they must proofread the exact files which they submit.
- Authors may want to submit revised manuscripts if they find
serious factual errors or typographical errors. Causal
Productions [the producer of the CD-ROM] will not perform
correction of existing manuscript files – a replacement
file must be submitted. The revised manuscript files will be
accepted only if there is no risk to the proceedings production
schedule.
- Causal Productions will charge a fee of AUD $35.00 per
submission for REVISED manuscripts sent to Causal Productions
AFTER October 17, 2008.
- No fee will be charged for REVISED manuscripts sent to
Causal Productions BEFORE October 17, 2008. No fee will be
charged for REWORKED manuscripts requested by Causal
Productions to fix problems identified in the original
submission. No fee will be charged to correct problems
caused by Causal Productions' processing of the manuscripts.
- Causal Productions will charge an over-page-limit fee
directly from the authors:
- each additional page exceeding the page limit of pages will
incur a processing fee of AUD $2.00 per page per revision.
- The page count of the manuscript sent by the author is used to
calculate this over-page-limit charge.
- Authors are responsible for 2-up imposition of the slides.
If authors are unable to generate 2-up, Causal Productions will
offer to do the imposition for the authors at the rate of AUD
$5.00 per file
per revision payable by the authors.
- There will be an administrative fee of AUD $10.00 for each
revision.
- Causal Productions will ask the author to pay these fees
directly to Causal Productions using VISA or MASTERCARD.
- Causal Productions’ manuscript revision policy
- If Causal Productions have not yet processed the manuscript
and author requests a change,
Causal Productions will accept the change without fee.
- If Causal Productions have processed the manuscript and author
finds an error caused by Causal
Productions, Causal Productions will fix it without fee.
- If Causal Productions have processed the manuscript and author
finds errors which were present in the author’s original
submitted file, Causal Productions will ask the author to pay
the reprocessing fee of Australian dollar $35.00 payable by the
requesting author using VISA or MASTERCARD. This reprocessing fee
is applicable to EACH revision of the manuscript.
